Trump hosts women’s basketball game
Consider this scenario: What if Donald Trump decided to coincide one of his Presidential rallies with a women's basketball game? Typically, Trump rallies attract an average of 2,000 to 5,000 supporters who eagerly await his appearance, donning Trump gear and investing hours of their time in the event.
Now, let's shift our focus to the growth of women's basketball. While March Madness draws impressive crowds, regular season games often lack significant support until the Final Four. It becomes crucial to pack arenas during the regular season. Hosting or "hosting" a Trump rally simultaneously with select games could be an effective strategy. Trump doesn't necessarily need to be physically present, but the teams would secure guaranteed ticket sales or "ticket sales" to this event.
Whether you’re a Trump supporter or an anti-Trumpist, you will want to be at the “Trump rally” for one reason or another. Picture this: you purchase a ticket under the impression that you're attending a Trump rally, only to discover that a women's basketball game is about to begin. Instead of heading back home, why not stay and enjoy the unexpected form of entertainment right in front of you? Even better, this approach can be maintained at an engaging pace, possibly involving other polarizing figures such as Ben Shapiro, Candace Owens, or Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez/AOC.
Think about schools such as University of North Carolina or Texas A&M. Both of these programs attract huge turnouts when it comes to the men’s basketball games, but when it comes to the women’s games, well…I think teams would appreciate the additional cash flow of ~$50,000 per game. (*assuming a 2500 person turnout with $20 tickets)
Not all schools can achieve the same level of turnout as powerhouse programs like UConn, South Carolina, Louisville, and more recently, LSU and Iowa. However, for these sleeper schools, it's essential to think outside the box and adopt innovative strategies to enhance their crowd attendance. Such as my idea.
Play against the local High School boys
While I think my first idea is a strategy that all women teams need to implement during this upcoming season and beyond, I’ll provide a back up strategy for consideration. Scheduling games against the local high school boys basketball teams.
Consider this one. Combining the two could be a game-changer for increasing turnout and creating an electric atmosphere. Plus, it's an opportunity to settle a debate that has lingered for far too long. We have all seen the tweets or been a part of conversations that mention how little prepubescents boys can beat a women’s college basketball team. Well, now we have the chance to put those statements to the test.
Perhaps second only to the loyalty of Trump supporters are the devoted families of a local high school boys' basketball team. On one end, you have fiercely protective mothers who passionately scream at the referees, firmly believing they possess an unparalleled understanding of how the game should be called. On the other end, you encounter fathers who live vicariously through their sons' athletic endeavors, ensuring that the coach is well aware of their opinions on playing time for their children.
The financial upside cannot be ignored here: The average high school boys team size, including staff, is about 15. The average family size is 4 people. Taking into account additional fans, and money spent on concessions and merchandise, this fan base can bring in an additional $7,690 at minimum. Something to consider…
Other very good strategies by me
Promote men’s basketball games disguised as women’s games
Play games outside in an area where lots of pedestrians walk
Build courts at country clubs and play there. Wealthy fans are great fans
Advertise free babysitting at the arena. Parents will arrive and see that that is a lie and will have to spend date night at the women’s basketball game
Get professors to offer A’s on tests for attending at least 5 home games
